Who We Are
Teamwork. Achieving goals. Exceeding expectations. Winning. Earning a Degree. These are all components of the student-athlete experience at TCU.
But the rewarding experience doesn’t stop at graduation. The TCU Lettermen’s Association makes sure that the winning continues.
In 2007-08, the Lettermen’s Association:
- Had more than 650 members contribute annual dues and made a gift in support of Horned Frog Athletes.
- Posted a three percent increase from last year in total Lettermen’s dues and gifts.
- Launched our Lettermen’s Association only website. More than 35% of annual dues and gifts totals were made online since the site went live.
- Bestowed posthumously TCU legendary photographer and Horned Frog icon Linda Kaye as an Honorary Lettermen, the highest honor a non-letterman can receive from the Association.
- Inducted the following Horned Frogs into the Lettermen’s Hall of Fame: Jamie Dixon, men’s basketball ’87; James Maness, football and track ’85; Al Paschal, baseball ’59; David Roditi, men’s tennis ’96; and Mike Sullivan, football ‘90.
- Will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Lettermen’s Association Hall of Fame with the 2008 inductions of the following individuals and sports team: Becky Brill, women’s swimming and diving ’84; Beverly McDonald, women’s track and field 93; WC Nix III, football ’88; Dr. John Richards, football ’67; and the 1938 National Championship Football Team.
- Volunteered with FrogHouse, a Habitat for Humanity project, led by TCU's Junior Class and along with many other volunteers in the TCU family to provide a home to a deserving family.
- Awarded scholarship assistance for students at TCU who are children of current dues paying Lettermen through the Dutch Meyer Scholarship.
- Honored our Female Letterwinners with a weekend of fun and comradeship at the 7th Annual “In My Day, I Could Play!” Reunion. Also launched a new line of Lettermen’s Association logo women’s apparel.
- Held a number of festive events for members of the Lettermen’s Association, including Floating Fandago River Float Trip, Pigskin Palooza Football Kickoff, Lettermen’s Golf Tournament, Lettermen’s Day at the Lupton Stadium and Lettermen’s Football Tailgate Parties.
